Ying Chang Compestine is an award-winning author, cultural authority, and former food editor for Martha Stewart’s Whole Living magazine. She’s published 27 books — including novels, cookbooks, and picture books — and her work has been featured in major media outlets like The New York Times, The Washington Post, the San Francisco Chronicle, and Parents magazine, as well as on the Today show and Oprah Radio. Born and raised in Wuhan, China, her rich personal history shapes much of her writing, which blends storytelling with wellness, food, and heritage.
