Emily von Trapp is a renowned tulip expert and owner of von Trapp Flowers, a family-run flower farm in Vermont. With a deep passion for floriculture, she specializes in growing and curating an extensive variety of tulips, known for their vibrant colors and unique shapes. Emily has gained a reputation for her innovative approaches to sustainable flower farming, including organic growing techniques and efforts to reduce environmental impact. She frequently shares her knowledge through workshops, speaking engagements, and collaborations with other floral enthusiasts. Linda D’Arco is the founder and owner of Little Farmhouse Flowers, a boutique flower farm and design studio located in Jay, New York. With a background in education and nonprofit leadership, Linda transitioned to farming and floristry to pursue her passion for cultivating flowers and creating unique, nature-inspired floral designs. Her expertise lies in growing a wide variety of flowers, including heirloom and specialty blooms, using sustainable farming practices. Join experts Emily von Trapp and Linda D’Arco for a welcome reception and hear about their work as farmer-florists and their love for these incredible flowers. Discover the fascinating history and role of tulips in Dutch high society.

Come together as a group and enjoy a wonderful meal.

8 p.m. Broadway in the Berkshires
Join us for a one-night musical event where our cozy Fieldstone Lounge will transform into an intimate cabaret, and celebrity performers will bring life to songs and stories from Broadway.

Saturday, January 25

8:00 a.m. Sun Salutations
Greet the sun in 25 minutes, linking 12 postures to stimulate heat in the body. An intermediate flow.

10-11 a.m. Tulip Harvest
We’ll open the program with a tulip harvest. Join us for a hands-on program about the different styles of tulips and how to harvest and process them for design work. Pick your own tulips from our indoor tulip display. Learn the proper techniques for flower care prior to arranging. Each participant will also have opportunities to capture armload tulip shots.

12 p.m. Private Lunch & Learn
Enjoy a three course meal and watch as while our demo chefs prepare the entree

2-4 p.m. Flower Arranging Demo
Join us and a special guest to learn how to design a beautiful floral arrangement with different styles of tulips.

5 p.m. Book Talk and Signing
Meet in the library, surrounded by our beautiful designs from the morning workshop, for a special book talk and signing.

6 p.m. Candelight Yoga
n this gentle, candle lit practice, welcome the evening with a relaxed flow that invites a restful slumber and the restorative properties of the moon.

Sunday, January 26

7:45 a.m. On Property Pole Hike
Join us for a brisk, energizing walk on woodland trails using poles for extra aerobic conditioning. Sign up: CR App or with a Wellness Guide, Ext. 55423.

10 a.m. Floral Photography Lesson
Join us in back in the library to learn about and practice the art of Dutch still life photography.

11 a.m. Bulb Forcing Kit
Before you pack up and enjoy a farewell lunch, meet us at the cafe for a bulb forcing demonstration and farewell gift.

Noon-1 p.m. Farewell Lunch and To-Go Wrapped Bouquets
Guests are invited to enjoy a final meal together and an opportunity to take home extra flowers.
