Emily von Trapp is a renowned tulip expert and owner of von Trapp Flowers, a family-run flower farm in Vermont. With a deep passion for floriculture, she specializes in growing and curating an extensive variety of tulips, known for their vibrant colors and unique shapes. 5 p.m. Welcome Reception Join experts Emily von Trapp and Linda D’Arco for a welcome reception and hear about their work as farmer-florists and their love for these incredible flowers. Discover the fascinating history and role of tulips in Dutch high society.
Saturday, January 25
10-11 a.m. Tulip Harvest We’ll open the program with a tulip harvest. Join us for a hands-on program about the different styles of tulips and how to harvest and process them for design work. Pick your own tulips from our indoor tulip display. Learn the proper techniques for flower care prior to arranging. Each participant will also have opportunities to capture armload tulip shots.
2-4 p.m. Flower Arranging Demo Join us and a special guest to learn how to design a beautiful floral arrangement with different styles of tulips.
8 p.m. Book Talk and Signing Meet in the library, surrounded by our beautiful designs from the morning workshop, for a special book talk and signing.
Sunday, January 26
Noon-1 p.m. Farewell Lunch and To-Go Wrapped Bouquets Guests are invited to enjoy a final meal together and an opportunity to take home extra flowers.
