Metabolic Exercise Assessment, two parts. 

1. A performance scientist guides you through metabolic testing on a stationary bike.
2. Interpreting the data, your performance scientist consults with you about your VO2 max, calories burned per minute at given heart rates, ventilatory threshold, and optimal training heart rates. Learn ways to maximize your workout and enhance your training program.

Performance Assessment
Seeking to improve your sports performance? Joint limitations, restrictions, mobility issues, and asymmetries all can hinder your potential. This evaluation is designed to identify any of these setbacks and provide strategies for change and improvement.

Fueling for Performance. A skilled nutritionist customizes a plan to fuel your optimal performance based on your specific needs, training, and goals. 

Sports Massage. Based on your consultation, your sports medicine provider will work with the massage therapist to ensure a treatment that addresses the right areas to support optimal cycling performance. Aquatic therapy is also available on-site to complete your rejuvenation.

Post-Ride Recovery at CR Vitality. After each ride, you can visit the CR Vitality studio where you’ll have access to recovery modalities used by professional athletes.

inGamba experts have planned rides that challenge you on varied terrain with fabulous scenery.

Day 1 - Warm-up
We’ll ease into the week in Tucson with a relaxed opening ride that has just enough climbing to make you feel like you’ve earned the pampering that awaits back at Canyon Ranch. The main climb comes around 8km into the loop, lasting 3km and averaging around 4%, with views of Mount Kimball in the distance and plenty of quiet roads for us to enjoy. After a fun descent, we’ll head south and back towards home.

Day 2 - Gates Pass | 59km & 886m
Originally a shortcut through the Tucson Mountains for pioneers, Gates Pass is a legendary ride in the part of the world, and for good reason. With boundless views over the Arizonan landscape and no shortage of the region’s iconic Saguaro cactus to help set the scene, this is a ride that really gives you a sense of place.

Day 3 - Windy Point Vista | 59.3km & 1,273m
With nearly 1,500m of climbing on the cards, this is definitely the toughest ride of the week. But it might also be the most enjoyable. Mount Lemmon is the “must-do” ride around Tucson, and what better way to tackle it than with some unrivaled support from the inGamba crew? At the top, we’ll be more than 2,000m above sea level and the views will be spectacular. The descent back home promises to be pretty great, too!

Day 4 - Pistol Hill & Colossal Cave | 84km & 602m
When you see a road called Pistol Hill, you have to ride it. Especially when it ends at a place called Colossal Cave. And then we’ll take the Old Spanish Trail home, just to make sure we all get a good dose of old school western charm. This out-and-back skirts the edge of the Saguaro National Park and is the longest ride of the week, but there’s no nasty climbs involved so it should be an enjoyable spin for everyone.

Day 5 - Saguaro National Park | 67km & 636m
It’s time to explore the Saguaro National Park and take in all of the famous panoramic views. We only have a couple of sustained climbs on the cards but the terrain is undulating all day as we roll through the quintessentially wild west landscape, so you’ll feel it in the legs by the time we get back home. Luckily for us, there are some world-class masseuses on hand to fix us up!
